Fethiye is one of the most popular tourism centres of Muğla. With its deep blue bays, ancient cities, vast nature and warm people, Fethiye is almost like a living picture.
Historical and Cultural Attractions
The history of Fethiye dates back to the ancient Lycian civilisation. Telmessos Ancient Theatre, which still bears the traces of this civilisation, is very close to the city centre. Sitting on these stone steps at sunrise or sunset and watching the sea gives a completely different peace.
One of the most striking structures of the city is the magnificent Amintas Rock Tombs carved into the hillside. Dating back to the 4th century BC, these tombs fascinate visitors with their impressive architecture and historical texture.

While wandering through the streets of Fethiye smelling of history, you should definitely stop by Kayaköy, adorned with old Greek houses.
Natural Beauties and Outdoor Activities
Fethiye’s most famous natural wonder is of course Oludeniz. This natural wonder, which is perhaps Turkey’s most photographed view, is almost a pool of nature with its calm waters. Paragliders taking off from here colour the sky. Jumping from Babadağ and soaring like a bird and floating above Ölüdeniz will be an experience you will never forget for a lifetime.
Saklikent Canyon is frequented by nature lovers. This 18-kilometre-long canyon is a refreshing and exciting place to walk with its icy waters and steep cliffs.
Butterfly Valley will fascinate you not only with its name but also with its appearance. You can camp in this valley, which can only be reached by boat, swim in the sea on the white beaches and meet hundreds of butterflies surrounding the valley.
Fethiye is also very rich in terms of gastronomy. In the restaurants lined up along the coast, tables equipped with seafood, olive oil dishes and appetisers await you. You can try local flavours such as fish-bread, grilled calamari, stuffed squash blossoms and keskek.
There are accommodation options for every style and budget in the centre of Fethiye or in the surrounding areas. Luxury hotels, boutique stone houses, bungalows intertwined with nature or camping sites, everything is considered here for a comfortable and enjoyable holiday.
Reach Fethiye from Antalya Airport by bus or rental car. The distance is approximately 200 km. Use a tram, taxi, or HAVAŞ shuttle to reach Antalya Bus Station, then take a regular bus to Fethiye. Alternatively, rent a car at the airport and drive along the scenic D350 highway through the Taurus Mountains.
